November 15 is America Recycles Day, when millions in the U.S. step up their efforts to recycle and purchase green products. Given the recent climate calamities we have all witnessed across the globe, this year more than ever, recycling should be on everyone\u2019s lips\u2014as well as their fingertips. This holds true for the beauty industry, too.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

With its many components, beauty packaging, which includes loads of cardboard, paper and plastic, globally generates more than 120 billion units of packaging a year, contributing to 18 million acres of deforestation, the littering ocean floors, and the growth of already engorged landfills1<\/sup>.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Just make sure to cross check with your local recycler to see what they can and cannot accept. Municipal recyclers typically accept 1 and 2 of the 7 recyclable plastic categories, but don\u2019t fret, because there are private recycling centers such as Terracycle,2<\/sup> which can recycle the less traditional bits for free.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
